Alouette’s ÉCOTERRAtm Home was launched with a ground breaking ceremony in Eastman on June 18, 2007.
Those present included Alouette Homes, Canada Housing and Mortgage Corporation (CHMC), the initiator of the EQuilibrium Initiative, and Alouette’s partners in this project, as well as government and local dignitaries..
This eco-friendly house is being built in a new, rural development called the “Boisés de la Héronnière”, spearheaded by Luc Cousineau. His dream is to create a community for those wishing to live in a healthy and eco-friendly environment.

Following the guidelines of CHMC’s EQuilibrium initiative, Alouette Homes is working with different partners to assemble all the technologies and components necessary for this revolutionary new house.
Alouette Homes and its partners are among the twelve homebuilding teams selected by CHMC to build pilot demonstration homes.
The Alouette team will ensure that resource and energy-efficient technologies are used to reduce the environmental impact of the Écoterratm Home.
This groundbreaking ceremony, gathering together all participants, is a positive step forward in this exciting new project.
